There are so many beautiful places in the world, what we tend to call a paradise. One of these indescribably beautiful places can be found in Italy, in the region of Campania. The Amalfi Coast, Capri, and Sorrento are possibly one of the most fabulous destinations on the Italian peninsula.
Campania is the region in Italy that holds many amazing gifts, being the home of the mysterious Pompeii and the Vezuv volcano. Also the noisy, colorful, and lively Naples. Then, there’s the magical Sorrentine peninsula, with breathtaking cliffside town and charming islands!

Things to do in Sorrento, Italy
Sorrento is a breathtaking little town on the Sorrentine peninsula, the town of lemon trees. The home of the famous Italian drink, the Limoncello.
A charming, colorful place on top of the cliffs, facing the Bay of Naples, with all its perfection, Sorrento is a must-visit town in Campania!
The elevation is around 50 meters, while at the seaside you can find just the port and a few beaches. The easiest way to get to Sorrento if you’re coming from Naples is with a ferry-boat.
Then you can either take a taxi, a bus, use the elevator or you can just walk up to the town. The center is lined by busy narrow alleys, with many amazing restaurants and shops.
You can enjoy the breathtaking view from the side of the cliffs at Villa Communale Park, walk under the orange trees on Corso Italia and watch to the amazing street artists in the historic center.
Sorrento has an amazing nightlife as well! Many clubs, bars, pubs, and open-air discos are available to really live up a warm Italian night!
The lemon town is on the other side of the peninsula, about 30 minutes driving from the Amalfi Coast. The distance is not that big, but the roads lead up to the top of the hills, and lead all the way down on the side of the cliffs to Positano.
Things to do in Positano, Italy
The magical Positano!
Positano is a worldwide famous little Italian cliffside village on the Amalfi coast. Tiny charming streets, cute buildings covered with colorful flowers, and an amazing view towards the sea, the cliffs, and the colorful town. That’s Positano.
It’s a very popular summer destination, and due to it’s small size, it can be really crowded and annoying in this period! But still, even with 40°C and thousands of people around, Positano has its pure magic that will make you forget everything else!
Walking down on tiny alleys to the seaside, you’ll find many restaurants, bars, and beautiful shops as well as Positano’s lovely small beach, where you can spend a perfect day under the Italian sun. Surrounded by the sea and enjoying the sun, don’t forget the best summer drink, the Aperol Spritz!
Things to do in Capri, Italy
Away from the crowds, with a 20-minute ferry boat ride from Sorrento, you can get to one of the most famous islands of Italy, the charmer, Capri.
A white town with beautiful natural habitat and enormous cliffs will take your breath away! I spent just one day here but I can’t wait to be back! The island of Capri is just fabulous!
The port is full of restaurants and bars, which is really handy when you arrive in the heat. From the port of Capri, you can use the funicular (cable car) to get to the top of the town, which offers a magical view around.
The floral white town, with few colorful buildings here and there, can honestly make you want to scream: How does this place even exist???
Ideas for the Amalfi Coast, Positano, and Capri
Capri is really famous for its beautiful blue lagoons. There are many possibilities, on either going on private tours or group tours, but the lagoons of Capri are really a must! Here’s a private tour from Positano to check out!
